Kelly Lane Park in Sapulpa, Oklahoma is one of those places that keeps giving you reasons to come back. At just over 69 acres, it packs more into a single park than most communities twice Sapulpa’s size manage to pull off — trails, disc golf, a dog park, fishing ponds, a skate park, playground equipment, ball fields, and more.
The park sits at 1151 S. Park St. and has been part of Sapulpa since its dedication in 1988. It’s been expanded and improved steadily ever since, and the recent disc golf course expansion is the latest reason the Tulsa metro crowd has been paying attention.
Walking Trails
The trail system here is one of the park’s strongest features. There’s a one-mile lighted, ADA-accessible loop that connects to an additional mile of paved walking and jogging trail via a pedestrian bridge — so you’ve got two miles of paved path to work with without ever repeating the same stretch. A second pedestrian bridge connects to the primary parking on Hwy 117/Taft Road. A second, smaller lot is located inside the park near the playground.
One of the newer additions to the trail is the Story Trail — a series of 30 podiums spaced along the walking path, each displaying a single page of a children’s book. Starting at the trail intersection near the playground, you read a page, walk to the next podium, read another, and by the time you’ve finished the trail you’ve finished the book. A clever way to get little ones moving without them realizing it.
We pushed our son in a stroller without any issues. The surface is smooth, the route winds through green space and around the ponds, and there’s enough going on visually to keep you from zoning out. Dogs are everywhere out here, and most of their owners are on the trails, so if you’re bringing a pup, you’ll have plenty of canine company.

Kelly Lane Disc Golf Course
Kelly Lane has been home to a disc golf course for years, but the recent expansion turned a modest 9-hole layout into a full 18-hole course — and by all accounts, it’s a significant upgrade.
The course comes in at 5,730 feet with a par of 58 and an average hole length of 318 feet with concrete tees throughout.
Four holes put one of the ponds directly in play, and much of the course runs along a large, deep creek that adds both scenery and consequence to errant throws. The terrain rolls through a mix of open ground with some elevation change and newer heavily wooded shots.
I only threw a handful of holes because the woods weren’t stroller-friendly at all, but even from what I saw, the new layout looks like a genuinely good course. This one’s going back on the schedule for a proper round once we can leave the kid with grandma for a few hours.

Wiggly Field: The Kelly Lane Dog Park
Wiggly Field is a fully fenced, off-leash dog park with separate sections for large and small breeds. It’s got a double-gated entrance, water fountains, shaded spots, and waste bag stations throughout. Dogs are welcome on the trails as well, so even if you’re just passing through with a leashed pup, there’s plenty of room to roam.

What to Know About the Playground
Kelly Lane’s playground is impressive — and not particularly designed for toddlers. The equipment is newer, taller, and more physically demanding than a standard community setup. We’re talking climbing towers, rope structures, a cobra slide that hits around 12 feet, pod bridges, and circular monkey bars with angular surfaces. It’s a great playground for kids with the coordination and size to actually use it.
Our son is not those things yet. He had a fine time watching older kids tear through it, but there wasn’t much for him to get on safely. We’ll probably hold off on bringing him back to the playground until he’s closer to three or four — at which point he’s going to love it. If your kids are school-age, though, this is a strong playground.
A skate park is also on-site and features a pump track setup for skaters and cyclists.

Fishing at Kelly Lane Park
Kelly Lane has two ponds on site, and fishing is permitted in the larger of the two through a partnership with the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation’s Close to Home Fishing Program. The park gets stocked with trout, so there’s a real reason to bring a rod. A valid Oklahoma state fishing license is required for anglers 16 and older.
Rock Creek also runs through the park along the disc golf course, and like any public creek in Oklahoma, you’re welcome to fish it. It’s not stocked, so what you find is anybody’s guess — but that’s half the fun.
The ponds also come with a permanent goose population that hangs around the banks — which is either a minor annoyance or a major highlight depending on how old your kids are.

Everything Else Kelly Lane Offers
Beyond the main draws, the park rounds out with two lighted ball fields, a kick golf course, an arboretum, covered picnic shelters, open picnic tables with grills, and two outdoor fitness systems along the trail. Restrooms are available near the baseball fields. Concessions operate during specific events.
It’s a lot for one park. The kind of place where you show up thinking you’ll spend an hour and end up staying for three.
