Founded in 1989 by Ruth Leib of Sand Springs Greenhouse, the Herbal Affair & Festival has grown from a modest gathering of 800 visitors to one of Oklahoma’s premier spring events. Today, this beloved festival draws nearly 30,000 visitors to Sand Springs’ historic downtown Box District, making it one of the state’s most successful herbal festivals.
The festival transforms downtown Sand Springs into a vibrant marketplace where gardening enthusiasts, food lovers, and families gather to celebrate the arrival of spring. What began as a small community event has evolved into a regional attraction that draws visitors from across Oklahoma and neighboring states.
