Pawnee Bill Ranch Easter Egg Hunt — Pawnee (FREE)

Location: Pawnee Bill Ranch & Museum, Pawnee, OK
Phone: 918-762-2513

This is my top small-town Easter pick for 2026. The Pawnee Bill Ranch annual Easter egg hunt hides thousands of eggs across the picnic pavilions of a genuine Wild West historic site — the former home of Gordon “Pawnee Bill” Lillie, the famous frontier showman. The prize eggs are the best part: gold and silver eggs hidden among the regular ones, redeemable for money and prize vouchers. The kids who find those are going to be telling that story for years. Call ahead to confirm (918-762-2513) since this is an annual event that may not always have early digital promotion. Worth every mile of the drive to Pawnee.

Confirm dates through Central Park Community Center as the event approaches.
Practical Tips for Oklahoma Easter Weekend 2026
A few things that will make your Easter weekend go smoother:
Arrive early — seriously. Easter egg hunts can be over in minutes. Organizers hide thousands of eggs, kids descend, and the eggs are gone. “Arrive early” means 15–30 minutes before the listed start time for large events, especially the Will Rogers Museum hunt (30,000 eggs, starts promptly at 11:30 AM) and the Eastside Egg Hunt (15,000 eggs).
Bring a basket. Some events provide bags or containers; many don’t. Bring a basket or bag from home. Multiple baskets if you have multiple kids — they won’t want to share.
Check the weather. April in Oklahoma is notoriously unpredictable. The average high in early April is in the mid-60s, but it can swing warmer or bring unexpected rain. Layer the kids and have a rain backup plan ready for outdoor events.
Verify registration requirements before you go. Several events on this list — including the Bethany Children’s Health Center Adapted Hunt, Owasso Community Egg Hunt, Easter on the Green, and others — require or strongly encourage pre-registration. Don’t assume you can walk up. Check the event website or call ahead.
Have a backup plan. If your first-choice event is rained out, canceled, or too crowded, have a second option ready. With 40+ events in this guide, you have plenty of options. Oklahoma’s indoor play places are also a solid wet-weather backup if outdoor events get rained out.
Verify details before attending. Event dates, times, and details can change after this article was published. Always check the official website or event organizer’s social media before you head out — especially for events marked TBD.
